International Conference Modern Information Technologies in the Earth Sciences
September 8-13, 2014
The history of these meetings on Information Technologies in the Earth Sciences (ITES) dates back to 2008 (Magadan) and 2010 (Vladivostok) when scientists of the Far East Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences hosted two All-Russia national conferences in a row on the ITES advances. The goal of this International conference is to attract the leading researchers and experts in information technologies, applied mathematics, geoinformatics, geophysics, system analysis, exchange acquired knowledge and experience, and discuss possibilities for setting up joint projects and programs.
The scope of conference issues to be discussed:
Venue: Institute of Volcanology and Seismology FEB RAS, Petropavlovsk on Kamchatka, Russia
Accommodation: HOTELS AND HOTEL COMPLEXES recommended by the Organizing Committee for conferees
Languages: Working languages of the Conference are Russian and English. Abstracts are accepted in both languages.
Conference fees: For participants the fee is 5 000 rubles. Cash can be paid upon arrival when registering.
Special fee for young scientists and accompany persons: The fee is 2 500 rubles .
Publication of abstracts and selected papers: The abstracts of papers to be delivered at the conference will be published in the conference volume. The authors are adviced to use Conference site to upload the abstracts of their talks. Selected papers will be issued in the Journal «Bulletin of the Kamchatka science center FEB RAS » which is listed by VAC.
Important dates: Registration of participants: from November 1, 2013 up to April 1, 2014. Abstract submission: from January 1, 2014 to April 1, 2014. Notification on acceptance: before May 1, 2014.
Excursions: The program includes excursion at the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, a sightseeing tour in the city of Petropavlovsk on Kamchatka and a one-day excursion/field trip around the Mutnovsky volcano to learn about its origin and relation with the geological evolution of the Kamchatka Peninsula. The accompany persons will be offered a special program.
